“Pretty Kitty” sonnet

Your eyes are like green ferns in daytime light

Fur that illuminates the sun’s powerful rays

Claws sharpened to the brim with might

Your tail sways, and every demon pays

You always made me feel happy to be alive

I used to love you happily purr life away

Whenever i was sad, you’d be as loud as a hive

We were partners in crime, they’d say

My cat, my cat, who was a true god

He’s be happy no matter what happened

He loved everyone no matter, kitty or dog

We loved to pretend to be pirates, and say “ey’ ey’ captain!”

Love lasts only for so long

and your time came, and went, in a snap.
